  One of the reasons for the fast tourism development in Troyan during the last years is the cuisine of the region – skillful /and exceptionally delicious/ combination of traditional and modern recipes, seasoned by the mastery of the Troyan cooks.
  You can start from the beans, the nettle and the bacon and reach the difficult sach- and shish-meals, made tasty with the aromatic herbs and spices from the Balkan. And all that – combined with the renowned Troyan plum brandy.
  If you stay in the local guest houses, you should certainly try the famous banitsas and mekitsas, prepared by your hosts, served with a cup of home-made milk and aromatic tea. If you are on a diet in your intensive every-day life, here you can taste the more caloric local meals and not worry about that. Combined with the calm atmosphere, the pure air and the pedestrian routes, the calories just waste away.
