The river of Kumanitsa is a main tributary of Cherni Osum. It emerges as if from the very Mt. Ambaritsa and forms one of the most beautiful canyons in Stara Planina – the famous Stene  – part of the reserve with the same name.
Rock phenomena are quite common here – Haidushkoto Igrilo, Ventsite, Krali Markova Dupka.
Rogacheva River descends from the steep northern slopes of the Kozya Stena Reserve and emerges right next to the Haidushka Pesen Hut.
Varied and hard – to – reach caves and abysses are to be seen in Steneto Reserve:
Pticha Dupka Abyss  Cave is the most beautiful in the area. Its length is 652 m., its depth – 108 m. The name – Bird`s Cave – comes from the yellow – beak crow that lives in it. The variety and richness of shapes is extraordinary: cave pearls and lakes, rich limestone draperies and stone warm-coloured waterfalls.  A sky-blue lake full of yellow pearls and stone lilies complete the beauty of one of the cave halls.
The unique stone bridge – Krali Markova Dupka – is also a cave but in the last stage of its development – most of its walls have “dissolved” in water and it has turned into a wondrous rock phenomenon.
Kumanitsa Cave on Kumanitsa river lies in the narrowest and most beautiful part of the canyon, over the picturesque waterfall of Golemia Kazan. Underground cave waters surface through the Karst spring of Kumanitsa, 4 km from its entrance.
The abyss cave of Raichova Dupka (1400 m. above sea level) is also to be found in Steneto Reserve. Galleries reach 3,333 m. of length, which makes it one of the longest in Bulgaria. Its altitude gap of 387 m., on the other hand, makes ot the deepest cave in the country.
Raichova Dupka  has two levels, with large halls and limestone formations.
The Sopot Dam is situated near the village Golyama Zhelyazna and it is a wonderful place for rest, bathing-beach, water-motor sports, fishing. There are good conditions for camping and accommodation.
The resort place Beklemeto (1300 m above sea-level) is 22 km away from the town in a south-western direction under the Troyan pass. The complex offers wonderful conditions for winter tourism – there are 3 ski-tracks, 2 drags and the best track for biathlon and ski-run in Bulgaria.

Kozya Stena in the Central Balkan National Park. For the lovers of trekking, there are picturesque trails in the mountain, leading, to interesting sites and objects such as the peaks of Ambaritsa, Kupena, Kozya Stena and Ushite. Forests here comprise ash-tree, beech, oak and hornbeam.
Stara Planina edelweiss is to be found in the area of Kozya Stena Reserve.
Cherni Osum River runs through a narrow and deep valley. It meets its biggest tributary, Krayovitsa, in the locality of Smesite. From there, Cherni Osum flows north and takes other small tributaries below the village of Oreshak. At 3 km from the town, it merges with Beli Osum River and continues already as Osum.
